Alright, I'll admit it: I've been being a slacker. A very disorganized, very lazy slacker. And even though my goals were to be farther along in the short stories project by now, well, it's summer. I've been more interested in popsicles and nature walks than anything else. When I am online...well. I putter. I can't decide on what I want to work on, because there's so much -interesting- stuff to do all at once. I've got kid in a candy store syndrome, bad.
Anyway, today we have Ami's First Love ready for your viewing pleasure. Although I have finally finished the Spore Saga after doing them all in order, I should probably be doing the Exam Battle series in order like I did for our beloved exploded radish head. Truth be told, I'm a sucker for Ami. I just wanted to do her story first. And I'll probably do the rest of the Exam Battles and short stories out of order too, pretty much according to whatever I find most interesting. Which means that the next release won't be an Exam Battle at all, but instead it'll be Casablanca Memories, which focuses on a romance of Rei's.
Ahem. That assumes that I don't translate the pamphlets for the 1995 Sailor Moon S - Henshin - Super Senshi e no Michi and the 1994 Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon Super Spring Festival which have been so generously provided to us by eternalruth. As neither of these events were released on any format, almost nothing is known about them. Until now, because I'm translating what information that -does- exist about them. I'm currently about half way through the 1995 pamphlet and expect to finish translating today; the typeset version should become available a few days later. The 1994 musical will follow immediately, which means that Casablanca Memories has bumped down to my #3 spot on the queue.
A few of you have also been asking me when they should expect to see a translated release for 1997 Summer Special Musical Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon -Eien Densetsu- Good flippin' question; we still haven't even started. Embarrassing and shameful, I know. I've got excuses, which mainly involve Neon Genesis Evangelion : 2.2 You Can (Not) Advance and NG Knight Lamune & 40, but they aren't great ones. So instead I'll tell you that for sure, most definitely, our translation staff will begin work on Eien Densetsu in the first week of August.
Lastly for today, I've added two very overdue affiliates to my list; Neo Nobility and Suburban Senshi, the owners of which have been awesome friends for years and who have supported Miss Dream even before it really took off. I feel like a jackass for overlooking such obvious must-haves on my affiliates blog-roll, because Icera and Xadium are two of the best webmasters in the Sailormoon community, period. So go and check them out!
That's all for today everyone, and enjoy the new release!

A new podcast, in a convenient carrying size at just over 20 minutes. Actually we had a longer one to begin with, but it was so saturated with drama and wankery that we decided to be bigger than that and cut all that out. You should praise us for being so nice! In any case, what we *do* have is one segment all about Sailormoon on tape. Video tape. Kinda like analogue DVDs with no disc. And we have a Japanese lesson as usual. Check it out!
It look's like you don't have Adobe Flash Player installed. Get it now.
Hey everyone, and welcome back to Miss Dream! It's been exactly two weeks since my last real update, and I'm glad to be back at work around these parts. But of course, I did have a bit of fun while I was gone...specifically, with Mario Knight of Sailormoon Uncensored and Holly of Moon Collection!
We spent a night baking Sailormoon pastries (for those interested, here's a link to the Facebook gallery, it's public: The Internet gets together to make cookies and cupcakes in ridiculous shapes), and then spent a day together hiking at the Helderberg Escarpment (minus Holly, who unfortunately had a sprained ankle -- get better soon!!). Pictures of that are also on Facebook here: Hiking with the Dream Team.
Lots of fun was had, and we plan to meet up again together soon. It was really an honor to meet both Holly and Mario Knight, who were amazingly sweet and funny. I can't believe that we all live close enough together to meet up now on a semi-regular basis -- and when we do, we'll post some pictures here for those of you curious about our IRL shenanigans.
Of course, while we've been away some people have taken the opportunity to bash our site, thinking that we wouldn't be aware of it or that we wouldn't respond to it. Since certain people have called into question our translation abilities, we've decided to put the issue to rest once and for all; anyone curious about our Japanese proficiency can check out our new page dedicated to displaying the translation staff's credentials, which you can now find on our staff page. Rather than bickering with people who hide behind anonymous handles who claim to have "native speakers" on their translation staff, we've put the issue to rest by letting everyone see for themselves that we hold degrees in Japanese from SUNY Albany and the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, as well as hold level 2 JLPT certifications. So don't listen to people who say otherwise about us; check out our credentials for yourself and make your own judgment.
Lastly, check out our latest release: Chibiusa's Picture Diary #4. This release contains an extra "page" with our translator's notes, which is well worth checking out even for those of you who have read the Mixx or Tokyopop translations of this particular short story before, since the official English language companies never bothered to explain the cultural implications of the Naruru and Ruruna and the two gangsters harassing the pawn shop owner. Working with Icera of Neo Nobility has been a truly rewarding experience, and we plan to finish the rest of the short stories together, including the 3 Exam Battles, Casablanca Memories, and the Lover of Princess Kaguya. So look out for those over the next couple of weeks!
That's all for today folks. Translation requests are once again open in the forums, so we hope to see you there. Have a good day!
EDIT: Happy birthday to staff member Pat, AKA Cha0sKnight81 on the forums!!
