Chibiusa's Picture Diary #4

Done in collaboration with our dear friend Icera of Neo Nobility, this is the second release in a series of joint projects are doing with Icera for the side-stories.
The Chibiusa Picture Diaries are a series of short stories that focus on the adventures of Chibiusa. They appear in both the original Japanese print manga, the re-print Japanese manga, as well as in the English-language version of the manga published by Tokyopop and Mixx comics. However, as the official English language translations for the short stories are somewhat problematic, we have undertaken a project to finish them all up and offer them online in a high quality, digitally remastered format for your downloading pleasure.

A Little Irony...
I was thinking today that it is kind of ironic that you guys are translating these Chibiusa diaries considering most of the MD staff members hate Chibiusa. Just a thought. ;)
Anyway, this was a great story, kind of like the Exam Battle stories in a way. (The design of the monster is similar to the Genius Loci in those stories). Naruru and Ruruna are hilarious! They would totally drive me crazy with their "Like, OMG, that is like, so totes awesome" sort of talk if I was in Chibiusa's place.
Also, I'm guessing this would be set within the Stars arc of the manga, since the pawn shop has a Eternal Sailor Moon and a Sailor Star Mercury costume? Also Moon has her Eternal form henshin. I don't recall Chibiusa being around in most of the Stars arc though...
Anyway, thanks for translating this! I'm getting to read more of the manga through these translations, at least. :)

Haha, I think just me and James hate on Chibiusa (I seriously considered translating her name throughout these as "The Spore", but that would have been a little too mean), I know Jen and the others love her to pieces. <3
I'm fairly sure that the last picture diary takes place in Stars for the reasons you mentioned. The continuity of the Short Stories makes sense in the manga version, but not so much in the animated versions. I don't even think this one was made into an animated short, which is a shame because this is a heck of a lot more interesting to me than crazy Vampire children. xD
