Hong Kong Anime Re-Airing Promo CommercialsHong Kong Anime Re-Airing Promo Commercials

As you may have heard via Moonkitty.net, Hong Kong has obtained the rights to re-air Sailormoon and will begin doing so later this month. In promotion of this, Hong Kong channel J2 has created some commercials featuring the Cantonese voice actresses of Sailor Moon, Mars, and Mercury in a live-action sequence as the senshi. The transformations are pretty hilarious!

Although none of the staff here at Miss Dream understands Cantonese, luckily our dear friend Icera of Neo Nobility and Deep Submerge Directory does and has generously provided us with translations for the commercials. We know that other places have transcripts, but we figured it'd be a lot easier for those of you curious to just watch the subs on the video instead.

You can watch the videos in HQ at our Youtube Channel:

Alternately, you can download these in HQ via our torrent tracker, or you can download here: [Miss Dream] 2010 Cantonese Live Action Promo Commercials for Anime Re-airing.

Enjoy!

Emergency update by Jen - Many people have been linking us to this image containing alleged spring 2011 anime releases. This is fake.

1. These images usually come in Japanese first. There is no Japanese version of this image floating around on the internet
2. Toei has not officially announced a Sailor Moon remake. Furthermore, there is no confirmation for a Final Fantasy VI anime from Square Enix, nor has Gainax announced a new Gurren Lagann movie.
3. The only new news on Sailor Moon is already readily available on the internet via trusted, confirmed sources. We know something big is going to happen for the 20th Anniversary in 2012, but all we know for is a gradual world-wide relaunch.

Goodbye, JulyGoodbye, July

Just in time for the end of the month, today we have a new translation: check out the 1995 Sailor Moon S -Henshin- Super Senshi he no Michi Musical Pamphlet. Many thanks to Ruth for providing the raws! This took longer to finish than expected. You can find the download in the merchandise section.

However, the pamphlet for the Super S Spring Festival is already translated, so it shouldn't take long to have it typeset in English and ready for download.

Thanks to new staff member Angel, we expect to get our print releases online a lot faster. Previously we've had four translators feeding work to just two Photoshoppers (one of whom is on hiatus), so we've got a whole pile of things that have been translated but haven't been put online yet because of backlog. We hope that the addition of this very talented artist to our staff will speed up our queue, so be sure to welcome her to the site!

We also have a new affiliate to add to the site, please check out Endymion & Serenity.com, a new website dedicated to all things Usagi / Mamoru romance related. There are some really great cosplay pictures to be seen, so it's definitely worth checking out.

Lastly, both the merchandise and doujinshi pages have had a bit of a re-vamp; I got tired of making poorly designed thumbnail covers for each release, so now things are organized according to a new category system using plain old text links. I think the switch is both easier on the eye and much easier to navigate through. I hope you'll all appreciate the change ;)

That's all for today. Expect to see another update in early August, and until then, enjoy!

Ami's First LoveAmi's First Love

Alright, I'll admit it: I've been being a slacker. A very disorganized, very lazy slacker. And even though my goals were to be farther along in the short stories project by now, well, it's summer. I've been more interested in popsicles and nature walks than anything else. When I am online...well. I putter. I can't decide on what I want to work on, because there's so much -interesting- stuff to do all at once. I've got kid in a candy store syndrome, bad.

Anyway, today we have Ami's First Love ready for your viewing pleasure. Although I have finally finished the Spore Saga after doing them all in order, I should probably be doing the Exam Battle series in order like I did for our beloved exploded radish head. Truth be told, I'm a sucker for Ami. I just wanted to do her story first. And I'll probably do the rest of the Exam Battles and short stories out of order too, pretty much according to whatever I find most interesting. Which means that the next release won't be an Exam Battle at all, but instead it'll be Casablanca Memories, which focuses on a romance of Rei's.

Ahem. That assumes that I don't translate the pamphlets for the 1995 Sailor Moon S - Henshin - Super Senshi e no Michi and the 1994 Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon Super Spring Festival which have been so generously provided to us by eternalruth. As neither of these events were released on any format, almost nothing is known about them. Until now, because I'm translating what information that -does- exist about them. I'm currently about half way through the 1995 pamphlet and expect to finish translating today; the typeset version should become available a few days later. The 1994 musical will follow immediately, which means that Casablanca Memories has bumped down to my #3 spot on the queue.

A few of you have also been asking me when they should expect to see a translated release for 1997 Summer Special Musical Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon -Eien Densetsu- Good flippin' question; we still haven't even started. Embarrassing and shameful, I know. I've got excuses, which mainly involve Neon Genesis Evangelion : 2.2 You Can (Not) Advance and NG Knight Lamune & 40, but they aren't great ones. So instead I'll tell you that for sure, most definitely, our translation staff will begin work on Eien Densetsu in the first week of August.

Lastly for today, I've added two very overdue affiliates to my list; Neo Nobility and Suburban Senshi, the owners of which have been awesome friends for years and who have supported Miss Dream even before it really took off. I feel like a jackass for overlooking such obvious must-haves on my affiliates blog-roll, because Icera and Xadium are two of the best webmasters in the Sailormoon community, period. So go and check them out!

That's all for today everyone, and enjoy the new release!
